Programs
In our Open Shop, we provide the space, tools, and instruction for DIY bike maintenance and repair. You bring a willingness to learn, and a bike in need of repair. You are the mechanic!
We refurbish donated kids bikes for distribution to children and families through partnered community/social service organizations, and provide training and accessories to ensure bike recipients have the skills and equipment to stay safe.
We teach youth aged 14-19 how to fix bicycles, offer guidance as they refurbish a bike to take home at no cost, provide bike skills training to encourage safe riding practices, and provide each participant with a lock, helmet, bell, and lights.
Bike Valet
We offer secure bike parking at large events through the summer, including MusicFest, Folk Fest and the Dragon Boat festival. Want to volunteer? Email volunteer@communitybikeshop.org.
Winter Wheels program provides 25 aspiring cold-weather riders with equipment and support to cycle through the winter. Supported by the City of Peterborough.
Rack n Roll
This is a part of Shifting Gears, where new bike commuters are provided with some helpful gear to get them riding more. Funded by GreenUP and the City of Peterborough.
B!KE Bright
Being visible is an important part of cycling safety. We distribute free lights to unlit riders so they can make it home safely.
Fix-It Stations
B!KE maintains 3 stations around the city for 24/7 self directed repair. We do one service interval per year. Supported by the City of Peterborough.
