Youth Earn-A-Bike Spring Session

Youth Earn-A-Bike Spring Session

March 1, 2018

4:00 pm / 7:00 pm

Venue

B!KE: The Peterborough Community Cycling Hub

293 George Street

What’s better than a free bike? Not much, except maybe building it yourself, learning a bunch of cool skills, and including yourself in an important community.

Participants will build a bicycle using frames and parts provided by B!KE. Over 8 sessions they will learn all aspects of basic bicycle mechanics, and then be given some valuable pointers on riding their new machines. Participants successfully completing the program will keep the bike they have built, and be given a helmet and lock to help keep them safe and keep their bike secure.

B!KE currently has 2 remaining slots for our Spring 2018 Youth Earn-A-Bike program. The program runs 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. every Thursday from March 1st to April 19th. Due to the limited space available please refer youth who are a good fit for the program.

Eligibility:
The program is aimed at youth in the 13-17 age group. Ideal program participants do not currently own a bicycle and have an interest in bikes and/or mechanics. Participants are asked to volunteer at B!KE during the 8 session program.

Application:
There is a short application form to be completed and submitted to B!KE for Earn-a-Bike. Contact Charlie via email or in person to get an application charlie@communitybikeshop.org.
